Jill Nagelkirk, LPC
Jill is a license professional counselor recognized by the State of Michigan. She has a passion for working with late teens, young adult and adult women who are navigating stressful and overwhelming life transitions, as well as many other issues and roadblocks that arise from past experiences. She relates on an authentic level with individuals struggling with anxiety and depression.
Jill enjoys taking a holistic approach to counseling. She has completed a 200 hour therapeutic yoga teacher training, and looks for opportunities to integrate movement when processing, allowing for a more interactive approach. She is also currently pursuing a three year Somatic Experiencing (SE) training that utilizes movement from more of a sensory angle. This can be particularly helpful for processing trauma that feels trapped at a physical level in our bodies, from a more gentle approach. Jill is a clinically trained Brainspotting therapist as well as an EMDR therapist and can utilize those techniques in various situations, especially in processing and healing from deep seeded traumatic and difficult memories. Jill's ultimate desire in the counseling relationship is to help her clients uncover their boundless life.
Jill grew up in the Holland area and moved down to Chicago for her undergraduate degree in Psychology. After moving back to West Michigan, she pursued her Masters at Western Michigan University in the Counseling Education: Marriage/Family Therapy program. Jill also supplements her work teaching trauma informed yoga classes for groups as well as individuals. Jill has been married to her husband since 2015. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, hiking, yoga, researching new places to travel, drinking large amounts of coffee, watching endless episodes of New Girl, and relaxing with her dog, Roy.
